WORLD CITIES

Made by Teoalida – www.teoalida.com – teoalida17@yahoo.com
I compiled this Word file in 2003-2005, sourcing data from Encarta Encyclopedia 2002 that I got from a friend. It was the ONLY recent geography encyclopedia I had in pre-internet era.

We (my family) connected to internet in 2005, discovered Wikipedia, from that moment I no longer saw the point of making my own database of world cities, especially since the population numbers get outdated quickly and updating the data constantly is a waste of effort. I also migrated to other hobbies such as architecture, before finishing the list of World Cities as intended (to include cities over 100.000 people from entire world).

The list of World Cities is currently 130 pages, being complete for Europe with all cities (100.000 people), even towns (20.000-100.000 people) for certain countries, while for other continents I wrote just few countries with cities low to 100.000 people, while other countries I wrote only major cities (over 1 million).

I done few more countries using Encarta Encyclopedia 2006 that I got from internet. Encarta Encyclopedia was last released in 2009. If I will ever revive the list of cities and finish the remaining countries, which Encarta Encyclopedia I should use, or from where elsewhere should source the data?
